This post is part of a series outlining the basics of each seasonal color palette. If you’re looking to become acquainted with the palettes, this is a good place to start.

Common Presentations of Light Summer

Light Summer, like all seasons, has a huge range in terms of what they can look like. These Light Summer celebrity examples are merely a guess, since we can’t know what they would look like in real life with every season tried following proper methodology, however in photos they resemble exemplars I have personally seen. Please keep in mind that any season can present with any hair, skin and eye color.

Light Summer Hair Colors: These can range from darker shades of pale blonde to shades of medium-dark brown. The average natural color is probably light brown, which can appear more golden or more ash. Darker hair can create the appearance of a darker season due to contrast with the skin.

Light Summer Eye Colors: Blue and green eyes are seen most frequently in people with this coloring, very often in shades of blue-green, though blue eyes can look very cool. Brown eyes are uncommon.

Light Summer Skin tones: Like hair and eyes, Light Summer skin tones range from very fair to medium, but are most commonly light. Very fair tones may have high contrast with brown hair, giving the false impression on a winter person.

Light Summer Color Dimensions

Light Summer’s predominant color quality is lightness. This doesn’t mean that they must wear only light colors, nor that they do not have darker choices, but simply that of all of the palettes other than Light Spring, Light Summer people have the least tolerance for darkness in color.

In addition to being light, Light Summer is also medium soft. They can balance a range of softer or brighter colors, but overall their best colors are moderate and leaning slightly towards softness.

Finally, Light Summer colors are cool-neutral. Members of this season suit a range of warmer and cooler colors, but overall their best shades lean towards coolness.
